I’m having a weird issue with my headlamp. After I turn it off, I still see a dim blue light in the main lens. By the time I wake up, the battery is drained. What’s causing that glow, and how can I stop it from killing my battery? Am I missing something here?
Some headlamps have a feature where they show a little light when they’re off to help you find it in the dark. It’s kind of useful but also a battery drainer. You might be able to turn it off by holding the power button down for a few seconds after switching it off.
Oh, that makes sense. I’ll try holding it down longer tonight and see if it does the trick.
OMG, I also had no idea that was it, I always ended up just pulling the battery out when I wasn’t using it.
It’s called the ‘find me’ light.
I always just turn it on and off twice quickly—it seems to stop the glow for me.
ll try that too. I mean, it’s useful but I don’t need a dead headlamp by morning either.
I tried that with mine and it still just refused to turn off unless I popped the batteries out completely. I ended up getting a refund.
That sounds like a horror movie plot—‘The Headlamp That Never Turns Off’
