What is the best hiking mat?

I am new to hiking and need a lightweight, insulated and durable hiking mat that is relatively affordable. What would you recommend?

Do you mean a sleeping pad?

Decathlon MT500 insulated foam pad. €20. R2.2 rating. Can be stacked with other pads to create a winter system.

It differs so much from person to person, best take is to go to a store that offers you to try some.

Exped 10 is :ok_hand: but not cheap. So good though.

OP - u/Electronic-Age-9941 - what country do you live / hike in?

‘hiking mat’ is not a common term/product in the USA.

Either way… you need to provide more details if you expect valuable advice. Put in effort if you intend to ask the community for help.

What is your budget? in USD or your local currency.

Are you a man or woman?

Assuming this is a sleeping pad - what low temperatures do you plan to sleep in? Tell us if it’s in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

What sleeping bag will you use (if this is a sleeping pad)?

Anything… context makes all the difference. With the low effort text you added - there isn’t enough to make a recommendation.

You probably should provide some info about general area where you live and what’s your budget. Also make yourself familiar with terminology. Do you mean the mat or pad?

There are thousands of threads already asking this exact question.

Wtf is a hiking pad please?

It tells you about them. It also allows you to say you actually did something for your own end aside shouting into a void ‘WHATS THE BEST THING I WANT???’ Like an a hole.

Lol. Everyone I suppose. I just get tired of seeing the same post over and over and over again. It’s frustrating as the majority of these posts are identical and all show the same level of involvement, which is next to none.

True, but we want an open discussion no matter how tedious

It’s not an open discussion it is the same questions constantly asked with the same answers constantly given.
