Where did you find this photo and why are you looking for this specific boot model? I’m trying to figure these posts out…

It seems most of the “what are these” posts are taking screen grabs of YouTube videos and trying to recreate their gear. I’m often confused because i have seen a few posts like that asking about unremarkable looking cargo pants.
@Nova
I know it’s so strange! Some people think I’m trolling or being rude when I ask but I genuinely want to know what this trend is all about and no one yet has given me an answer as to why they are asking this.
@Laken
I’m right there with you. It’s also the “tell me more about this 12 year old rain coat” and then sharing a photo of a used coat for sale on eBay I assume… It’s a coat you wear in the rain and anything beyond that is BS because it’s a used coat so who knows what state it is in.
Salomon gtx mid is what they look like to me. I have the Quest 4d ones

I agree. They look like Solomon’s for sure.
Definitely Salomon, but not sure which one. Could be a discontinued one or a previous years model.
Looks like a X Ultra Midrise or X Ultra 360 Midrise
Reddit community, you are being used to train AI. This post is an example. Look at OP’s other posts and communities that they have posted in. This is a bot and they are using your knowledge to train AI.
@Sam
I’m a Computer Science PhD student working with AI/ML. After a quick scroll through, there are 4 or 5 posts on OP’s profile asking for items to be identified, mainly watches (OP is also active in some watch subreddits). This is nowhere remotely close to enough examples to train a model to identify these items.
@Lian
It is more than enough to train AI if OP has more than one account and they aggregate responses from those multiple accounts into their training model.

At 4 or 5 images per account? Not likely.
Edit to add: The idea you’re putting forward seems to be that OP is trying to classify different makes and models of at least boots and watches. As a classification problem, this could have many thousands of potential classes. You are going to need thousands of examples of each class, and the number of examples has to be balanced to avoid imbalanced training.
So let’s be very conservative and say OP knows their problem set will only include 20 different makes and models of shoe and watch (not very realistic). OP wants to label this data at 4 or 5 images per account, and we want 1000 examples of each class (again, very conservative). OP would need 4000 accounts at minimum, and this isn’t even really a realistic approach to this problem.
To add on to that, the first post OP made asking for an item to be identified from an image was 7 years ago. If we only look at watches and boots, it was 2 years ago.
You seem to be very confident that you know how this works better than I do, but this is possibly the most inefficient labelling pipeline I’ve ever seen proposed.
@Lian
Well, the image itself seems to be a fake / diffusion style generative AI image since there doesn’t seem to be any actual boots that match this image. So what the heck is going on here - some kind of bot feedback experiment where fake images are fed into a subreddit and used to train the system to make more accurate or convincing images or … ?
@Lian
But if you’d like to address the image in question and find a suitable fit for which boot it actually is, maybe you could use your skills to help out.
Salomon x ultra mids
Yeezys
ETA: Before the downvotes, I posted this as a joke b/c I suspect the image is AI generated. It does look like Salomon, I have owned several of their shoes and boots, but don’t recall any of them with a Yeezy-style extended heel and a reflective logo in the middle of the outside part of the upper.
It has some similarities to a Lowa Zephyr also, but this has the hallmarks of a mishmash of images smooshed together by an AI image generator.
Merrills?
