Saw this walking stick in a museum in Denmark. What do these numbers/lines mean?

If you go to the museum’s website www.rosenborg.dk you can do a virtual tour and see the item in a cabinet with other canes in the Green Cabinet in the basement. You can also in the menu go to Interior & Objects → Basement → The Green Cabinet and select objects #3686-3694. I believe it is #3689: “Walking stick with sundial and red lacquer. Belonged to Christian V.”

@Briley
There’s been a lot of Christians. To think the fifth one owned this :open_mouth:

There may even be as many as 12 Christians among us.

I’m surprised to be Frank…

Oh wait, you said HE’S being frank…

Do you think we can both be Frank? Like when everyone wants to be the same character in super smash bros?

@Briley
Awesome! Thank you for finding that.

@Briley
Wild how someone couldn’t just do this while at the museum. Or ask someone about it.

It is not a museum - it is a castle that you pay a ticket to enter and walk around at your own pace. But this part is in the treasury in the basement and there are no curators or guides there, only security guards and military guarding the Crown Jewels that you are not allowed to talk to.

This case did not have the numbers labeled on it like the other cases and there were around eight canes in it.

Believe me, I ask way too many questions to curators and guides as it is. If they were there, I would have asked them. If there was a number label I would have googled that.

@Harley
No way they wouldn’t let you talk to the Crown Jewels

Are you one of those people who talk to other people in museums?

No sorry. Stop trying to recruit me into your weird group that does.

But like, ask someone who works there? Doesn’t really make sense why you wouldn’t just ask someone who is qualified enough to work at said museum, what an exhibit is about lol. Unless it’s a shitty museum with zero explanations to what the exhibits are. But then I’d be questioning if it’s even a museum.

Calm down and go learn about Google.

Oh, it wasn’t clear that I was making a joke and that was sarcasm. Ok

This guy followed me after this comment and went to a bunch of my old posts to comment catty remarks. I thought maybe they were drunk, but if this is still going on today, maybe they are a little unhinged.
