I’ve been using running shoes for hiking, but after a rocky trail adventure, I realized I needed something sturdier. I decided on the Akyra 2 GTX over the TX5 because they felt better on my feet. I’m excited to see how they hold up over the next few years!
LaSportiva shoes are the most comfortable hiking shoes I’ve ever used. You made a great choice!
La Sportiva is a solid brand. Enjoy your hikes, but consider getting gaiters if you’re using GTX shoes since they can let water in at the collar.
I’ve had my pair for two years now. They’re still going strong. I added high arch inserts and they’ve become the best hiking/running shoes I’ve owned!
I’m considering La Sportiva for hiking as their trail runners fit me perfectly. They’re great for slim, low-arch feet like mine.
Be cautious of potential quality issues with new shoes, as reported by some guides and clients during a trip to Nepal.
If you hike in the rain, use waterproof socks and consider removing the insole to prevent water retention.

Thanks for the waterproof socks tip! I’ll check out Dexshell.

Dexshell socks are great. You’ll be surprised at how well they keep your feet dry when you first wash them by hand!
I’ve been promoting La Sportiva for years! Their lightweight, low-cut hiking boots are amazing. Enjoy your hikes!
La Sportiva shoes tend to run narrow, which can be an issue if you prefer more room in the toe box. Otherwise, they’re excellent shoes.

La Sportiva shoes fit best for narrow feet and don’t stretch much. It’s important that your hiking shoes fit well right out of the box to avoid foot problems.

Agreed on the narrow fit. It’s something to consider when choosing your size.
While La Sportiva generally makes great products, some users have reported quality issues recently. Make sure to keep any warranty information in case you need it.

La Sportiva rarely has issues, but it’s always good to be aware. Salomon and Merrell often have more reported problems, but they are good about honoring warranties.

I’ve had some quality issues with La Sportiva, particularly with the adhesives they use. Still, I love their shoes even though they’re not quite as durable as Scarpa’s.

Scarpa has been the most reliable in my experience, far superior to other brands.
