Hey everyone, I’m planning a backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains this summer and I’m really struggling to decide on the best hiking boots. I’ve been using these old Merrells for years, but they’re starting to show their age. I’m looking for something that’s durable, comfortable, and provides good ankle support. Any recommendations?
I’d definitely recommend investing in a pair of waterproof hiking boots. The Rockies can get pretty wet, especially in the higher elevations. I’ve been using these Salomon boots for the past few years and I love them. They’re comfortable, durable, and provide great ankle support.
Keen hiking boots are a bit more casual than some of the other brands, but they’re still really durable and comfortable. I’ve used them on several trips to the Rockies and they’ve never let me down.
I think it really depends on your personal preference. Some people prefer lighter boots, while others prefer heavier, more supportive boots. I’d recommend trying on a few different pairs to see what feels best.
Try La Sportiva boots. They’re a bit more expensive, but they’re really high quality. I’ve used them on some pretty tough hikes in the Rockies and they’ve held up great.
These look cool, where can I get them @SummitSpirit …

I think the most important thing is to get boots that you’re comfortable in. You’re going to be spending a lot of time in them, so make sure they feel good on your feet. If your boots are too loose, they can cause blisters. If they’re too tight, they can be uncomfortable and restrict your circulation.
