Put it up close like a trigger finger on the top inside the handle
Yeah good call. I’ll try that and I’ll also see what it would take to have a hole in the top of the handle (vertical hole going straight through the handle.

I see the notion would give you more control and options while reducing weight and materials…

I think the trigger idea is cool but don’t want to interfere with the feel of the handle too much so I’ve gone with the hole in the top for now. I’ll see how it feels once it’s done printing in an hour or so…
Thanks for the feedback and brainstorming help!
@Fox
I meant more in the area your index would touch holding the handle while indexing like a trigger position.
The notion of vertical through handle makes great science!
I want to say I even seen a handle that the carabiner went through and clipped as the whole part of the handle, it was a smaller surround to flush with that clip though.
Great design …
I’d use that. I use mine most of the time at the office anyway. I have a tube/bladder for hiking/snowboarding use.

Honestly I’m surprised by how much I like using it! I ended up buying a second Nalgene that I’ll use with with this handle at home and then this old one will get my collar that I designed for rock climbing.
If you know someone with a 3D printer, they can print this for you using the files here: Beefy Nalgene Handle
Just need to make the handle into a carabiner style clip. Thanks for the file share. We will try this after my son opens his Christmas present.

That’s the other project. I can definitely add a clip point into this handle too though. This slim one is designed for rock climbing primarily but obviously could be used for anything
For someone who uses their Nalgene 24/7 at home, this is awesome! Can I purchase one?

I didn’t have plans to sell them, but I’ve had a few people ask now! The model is available for free here: Beefy Nalgene Handle and is designed for 3D printing. Some libraries now have 3D printers or if you have a friend with a 3D printer they could print one for you. I’ll DM you on the chance that you’re close and shipping would be feasible.
Also Thanks! I appreciate the feedback!
Hell yeah. I dig it. I wouldn’t use it for backpacking but I’d definitely rock it around work.
