Anyone with an ideaS??
It’s supposed to be a sewing awl but it sucks at that job. It can be used for cleaning under your fingernails, scraping the bowl of a pipe, untying tough knots, poking a hole in the bottom of a dog food can to release the vacuum, poking a new hole in your belt, and more.
@Fifer

The corkscrew is my go-to for untying tough knots.

It’s for sewing leather. It’s not a normal sewing awl, but if you’ve ever had a need for a leather punch, this thing is the shit.
Literally had one of these since 1999 and had no clue until I read the comments here.
Like everyone else, I treat it as a general usage ‘pokey thingy’
