I’m on the hunt for a compact daypack that’s perfect for short hikes – ideally in the 8-10L range. I’d prefer something that has side pockets for water bottles rather than a hydration bladder. I’m not a fan of bladders because they seem like a hassle to clean.
I currently use an REI Trail 25, but it’s a bit too bulky for my casual 1-3 hour hikes. I’m looking for a pack that can fit 2 water bottles, a snack, and maybe a light jacket or a cool little treasure I find along the way. Budget is around $100. Any suggestions?

Hey, have you checked out the Osprey Daylite? It’s a bit smaller, around 13L, but the side pockets are great for bottles, and it’s super durable. Not exactly 10L, but close enough and fits your budget.

Yo! If you’re looking for something closer to 10L, the Patagonia Arbor Grande might be worth a look. It’s got a couple of side pockets for water bottles and is pretty sturdy. Plus, it’s stylish.

REI Co-op Flash 22 is slightly larger but still pretty minimal. The side pockets are also nice for water bottles. it’s pretty lightweight and tough for its size.
I’ve got the Gregory Nano 14, which is a tad bigger but super compact and has side pockets.
Arc’teryx Cierzo 18 is a bit over your budget but very lightweight and durable.
