Are Millet Gears Good for Cold Hikes?

Hey all, I’m thinking about getting some new Millet gear, but is their stuff any good for cold-weather hiking? I’ve got this old jacket my grandpa passed down that’s super solid against rain and wind, plus it doesn’t make me sweat. Planning a big hiking trip with my grandparents next year, so just wondering if Millet is still worth it or if there’s something better out there. Any thoughts?

Oh yeah, trust me Millet is still a solid choice. I’ve got one of their newer jackets, and it’s a beast in cold weather. Super durable, and the insulation’s just right. Can’t go wrong, IMO.

I’ve had mixed results with Millet, tbh. It holds up well for rain and wind, but in freezing conditions, I found it lacking a bit. It’s more of a mid-layer for me. Maybe look at Arc’teryx or Patagonia instead—they’re pricier but better suited for harsher cold, in my experience.

Just check out The North Face. I’ve had a jacket from them for five years, and it’s still going strong after countless hikes. It’s good for rain, wind, and even snow.

Check out for Mountain Hardwear gears.

I’ve had a Millet jacket that I use for layering. It’s not bad, but if you’re planning serious cold hikes, I’d pair it with something heavier.
