Is it just me, or are headlamps for camping way more expensive than regular LED lights? I can pick up an LED clip for like $7, and it works pretty much the same. What’s the deal with that?
It’s all about the design dude. Headlamps are made to stay on your head and not bounce around when you’re hiking or running.
Headlamps have multiple brightness settings, longer battery life, and are waterproof. So you’re paying for those extras.
Yeah, I guess I didn’t think about the battery life part. Do you think it’s worth it to get one with the fancy features?
You’re also paying for convenience because the headlamps free up your hands, which is huge when you’re maybe setting up a tent in the dark or scrambling over rocks
Man, I just think people are getting ripped off. I bought a $10 headlamp from Walmart 3 years ago, and it’s still going strong. You don’t need the fancy stuff.
You can find solid headlamps for way less than the fancy outdoor brands if you are looking for a good deal.
