Hey folks, I’m planning a solo trip to the Rockies and every “1-person” tent I see feels super cramped. I’m looking for something more spacious but still for just me. Anyone know of the biggest solo tent available?
MSR Hubba Hubba NX—it’s a 1-person tent, feels roomier than most. Plus, it’s really light for backpacking.
Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL1 is surprisingly spacious for a solo tent, and you can almost sit up straight in it. I’m a tall guy, so I totally get needing more room. It’s a bit pricey anyways.
Why don’t you just consider getting a 2-person tent? 2P Nemo Dagger is not that much heavier.
If weight’s a concern, you could check out the Tarptent ProTrail. It’s a single-person tent but feels way bigger inside than it looks. Still under 2 lbs too
I know REI Quarter Dome SL1?, It has vertical walls, so it doesn’t feel like the tent is closing in on you.
I would also just suggest a 2-person tent idea. The Kelty sounds good, especially on a budget. Anyone here used it for backpacking?
