I stopped by a second-hand/new old stock gear store recently and wasn’t really looking for a jacket, but I found one that caught my eye. I decided to grab it on my way out.
The store tag says “Patagonia Hard Shell Coyote,” but there are no manufacturer tags anywhere on the jacket itself. It’s well-made, with seam-taped construction, clean stitching, YKK zippers, pit zips, a great hood, mesh inside pockets, sleeve pockets, and Velcro for morale patches.
I’m guessing it’s some kind of tactical line or military issue, possibly MARS, but I can’t find anything similar online.
What do you all think? I haven’t tested it in the rain yet, but I’m curious about what this could be.
I found a Patagonia rain shell at a thrift store once that didn’t have exterior labels because it was a military contract item. Mine was gray, though, and had a different configuration.

Could be the A6 jacket from Beyond Clothing. Their stuff is high-quality, but they change up the designs often, so it’s hard to track specific models.
That’s what I’m leaning toward now. It looks very similar to their other jackets. Thanks for the insight!
The hood’s drawstring makes me think it might be designed for cycling—big enough to fit over a helmet with the cinch for adjustments. Regardless, awesome find!

Or maybe military for the same reason. The hood’s bill is really sturdy.
