Seeking Recommendations for a Water Bottle for Day Hikes and Daily Use … Suggestions

Hello everyone, I’m new here and also quite new to hiking. I’m starting with low intensity day hikes around my area to keep things simple and budget-friendly. I’m also in need of a new everyday water bottle as my old one is quite worn out. My previous bottle was a simple red aluminum one with a 1-liter capacity. I’m looking for something similar but I’m open to other suggestions. I prefer shopping at Decathlon as it’s the major sports store nearby and I like to purchase items in person. Any advice would be appreciated

Decathlon offers a basic 0.8L plastic water bottle that could suit your needs. For a more durable option, consider brands like Nalgene, Sigg, or Klean Kanteen, which offer single-wall aluminum or stainless steel bottles. If you prefer an insulated option, Hydroflask has some great bottles with a chug cap.

Thanks for the suggestions! Nalgene seems a bit pricey for me, but I’ll check out the 0.8L bottle at Decathlon and also their 1L aluminum ones. I prefer metal bottles due to the cold weather here. I’ll also look into Sigg as my old bottle might be from them, and I’ll check some local outdoor stores for more options.

@Darian
Nalgene bottles cost around $15. If that’s over your budget, you might want to continue using your current one until it’s no longer functional.

My current bottle is really worn out. I don’t have the option to order online, which limits my choices. I’ll try to find a local store that stocks Nalgene bottles.

Decathlon has tritan bottles with a blue cap that are quite durable. I’ve had one for over five years and it’s still in great condition.

Keep in mind, not everyone has access to US prices. Local pricing can vary significantly.

Do you have access to stores like Marshals or Home Goods

Unfortunately, no. I’m based in Mexico.
