Hey folks, I’ve been using the full-size Sawyer Squeeze after ditching the mini and the BeFree. But I’m getting this annoying leak whenever I attach it to my Smart Water bottle. It just doesn’t seal right 2/3 of the time, and I have to keep screwing it on tighter, which only makes things worse. Anyone else have this problem? Is it the rubber ring or should I switch things up? I’m thinking about the CNOC bag, but is it worth it? Would appreciate any ideas before I spend more money.
It’s definitely that little rubber gasket. Just replace it. I’d try that first before buying new gear.
CNOC bag works way better, plus the wide mouth makes filling it up from streams so much easier. Might be worth the switch if you’re ready to ditch the Smart Water bottle combo.
Is it more reliable than the sawyer squeeze?
100% trust me. Try it and let me know what you think.
Before going with the CNOC bag, maybe try switching the bottle. I realized that certain bottles, even among Smart Water ones, seal better than others. I’ve had luck with the shorter, squatter version. Weird but true. @DriftwoodDream
If you’re already thinking about swapping bags, check out Evernew too. I switched from Sawyer to Evernew bags, they work perfectly without all the annoying leak stuff. They’re durable and don’t get holes as easily as BeFree’s bladder either.
Hey @DriftwoodDream, That gasket’s probably your culprit. They get worn or pop out of place after a while. But if you’re set on changing up, go with HydroBlu Versa. Same idea as Sawyer, but no leaking problems so far.
