My Mrs just told me to get her hiking bag out for the weekend, anyone know what happened here?

Grool. Obviously

Does it smell like sperm?

Nah but it tasted a bit like it

This has happened to quite a few of my old bags and stuff sacks

Because?

Looks like someone squished a banana on that area. You smell it? Smell like a nana?

Looks like something spilled on it, dried out, and is now flaking off.

Sperm

It almost looks like the bag had a wax coating and it’s drying out? That isn’t usual for a hiking pack to have a wax coating though.

Or as the other poster said, something spilled.

To be honest it felt waxy when I tried to clean it up, but I never thought of that. Plus it was only on the one type of material that runs around the interior of the bag, so I think you might be right haha.

I’ll clean it off and dry it and be a bit more confident it’s nothing toxic, many thanks

This happened to an old osprey hydration pack of mine. Also a bit waxy. I live in Texas and it was stored in the garage, so I am pretty sure the heat just melted some part of the material. Osprey replaced the bag for free. Not sure if your manufacturer has a good warranty program, but might be worth a shot!

Most people just use an old sock

I’d be concerned that it’s a type of PFAS exposure to which has a host of health concerns. I would toss it out of caution.

Her side piece ejaculated on it on their last outing
