I love my Lone Peaks, Got the 5’s, but the sole, man…slips on wet rock every time. I’m looking for something like the Lone Peaks but with a grippier sole (maybe like Vibram or something), but nothing too narrow in the toe box. Suggestions?
Maybe check out Topo Terraventure. Wide toe box, Vibram sole.
Bro, try Hoka Speedgoat. The grip’s sick, but the toe box is narrower. Maybe worth a shot?
Altras + wet rocks = slip-n-slide. Heard La Sportiva Bushidos are sticky but not as comfy.
Inov-8 might have what you want. My Roclites stick like glue, but yeah, a bit snug up front.
Appreciate it. Tried the Hokas, but felt like my toes were in a sardine can. Might give Topo a try.
Same boat. I just bring duct tape. It fixes everything, right?
Try the Salomon XA Pro. Not Altra-wide, but decent grip and space.
LOL @EmberGlider the duct tape might need a whole roll at this rate.
Hokas are great if you don’t mind foot cramps. They’re like clown shoes but grippy, at least.
My feet stopped screaming with Topo Terraventure. Grip’s legit too. Plus, no clown feet
I’m sold on trying the Topos now. Can’t have shoes that make me look like Bozo AND slip around.
Agreed on Hokas. Felt like I was walking on marshmallows… until my toes staged a revolt. No thanks.
Topo sounds like the sweet spot, but still keeping my duct tape handy just in case.
Topo over Inov-8 for sure if toe space is key. Inov-8 will have you cursing halfway up a scramble.
Hokas are like walking on pillows… slippery, narrow pillows. I prefer some actual toe room.
Sounds like everyone’s had some interesting Hoka experiences. Anyone actually like them? Or are they the foot torture device we love to hate?
I actually dig my Hokas Narrow, yeah, but it’s like running on clouds. Just don’t expect to feel your toes after.
