Looking for a durable shoe brand for hot weather walking

I’m looking for recommendations for a durable pair of shoes to use in hot weather. I walk around 2 to 4 miles a day, and there’s a moderate chance of getting wet, so something that holds up in those conditions would be ideal. Any help is appreciated!

Check out trail runners from brands like La Sportiva, Altra, Saucony, Scarpa, and Hoka. Go with whatever fits your feet best—shoes should feel good right out of the box without any discomfort. Break them in gradually with light walks and work around the house. Some all-leather boots may take longer to break in, but they should still feel comfortable from the start. Also, try them on at the end of the day when your feet are most swollen, and wear your thickest socks for the best fit.

@Jesse
I love Altra shoes, but I wouldn’t say they are the most durable.

I have narrow feet and Brooks works well for me. My friend with wider feet swears by Hoka for running and hiking. I wear Brooks for my daily walks, and use Hoka for everything else.

Can you provide more details? Like, where will you be using them, how heavy is your pack, and will the terrain be rocky or forested?

Check out Oboz shoes. They’re known for their durability.

Jim Green shoes are built like tanks. Their Razorback and African Ranger models are great, though they do take some time to break in.

Chaco sandals are great for daily use. I wear the Z sandals for everything—traveling, hiking, city walking, even biking. I wore them in Hawaii for hiking volcanos and lava fields. Sportiva has good approach shoes, and I love my Asolo boots as well.

Keen and Merrell shoes will last about a year of heavy use. You can really beat them up, and they’re well priced when on sale.

Salewa is another great brand to consider.
