I’ve got these rugged knee-high water-resistant pants that I throw over my trail runners when crossing streams, but they’re pretty bulky. Anyone know of a more lightweight option for creek crossings? Appreciate any ideas,
NRS Boundary socks—They are super light and they don’t take up much space. You lose some warmth compared to heavier stuff, but they’re awesome for quick dips in cold streams.
Simms are good but expensive asf. Go for something cheaper, Frogg Toggs wading pants aren’t bad. Super light, though not as durable.
I’d just skip the overpants and just get a quick-drying shoes like Merrell’s. That’s what I do for creek crossings, it keeps things simple without the extra gear.
Yeah, I thought about that but sometimes the water’s a bit colder than I’d like to get my shoes soaked.
Gaiters might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but trust me they can keep a lot of the water out while staying lightweight.
Gaiters, huh? That’s an interesting idea, hadn’t really thought of that. But do they really hold up well in deeper water?
