I’ve been getting knee pain more often while hiking these days, and I’m looking for lightweight boots with good support. Any recommendations? I’m in Arizona, so not too worried about snow, just rocky trails and comfort.
Altra Lone Peak mids really helped me stay pain-free on rocky Colorado trails, I’ve got not so bad knees too, they also look pretty cool.
You can also try Hoka Anacapa boots. trust me they’ll take the stress off your knees like magic.
These.
I’d stay away from anything too cushy, actually. I tried Hokas once, and they felt unstable.
Anyone mentioned Merrell Moab Ventilators yet? Lightweight, comfy, and perfect for dry, hot trails. They’re my go-to in Nevada, and my knees don’t complain.
Keen Targhee III, hands down, they got some extra arch support built in, and they’re still light enough. I’ve done rocky hikes here in Texas, and my knees didn’t hate me for once.
How’s the durability, though? I tend to wear down boots fast.
They’re pretty tough, But I do rotate between a few pairs.
You can’t beat the Targhees on comfort, but mine started falling apart after a year. Maybe I was just too hard on ‘em, but I expected more for the price.
