Light boots with gaiter + waterproof—do they exist?

I’ve tried the La Sportiva Aequilibrium Speed and loved them, but they’re not fully waterproof. Anyone know similar boots that are super light, have integrated gaiters, and are waterproof? Live in a rainy area, so that’s a must.

I feel you, finding fully waterproof AND light boots is like finding a unicorn. Maybe try Salewa Alp Trainer Mid GTX? Not as flashy but decent waterproofing and still lightweight. https://www.rei.com/c/mens-day-hiking-boots

Integrated gaiter AND waterproof is a tough combo. I use the Hoka Anacapa GTX, but no gaiter. Still, they’re light and handle rain well.

Oof, waterproof, light with a gaiter is rough. Ever thought about just adding waterproof gaiters to something like the Scarpa Ribelle Lite? That’s what I did, and it’s been solid in the wet.

Yeah, same here @LuminousQuest . I rock my Ribelles with Outdoor Research gaiters—no wet feet, no problem. Plus, they still look cool. Might be easier than hunting for an all-in-one.

Check out the Arc’teryx Acrux TR GTX. Light and waterproof, but no integrated gaiter. I pair them with some lightweight gaiters, and they’re solid in rainy, muddy terrain.

Adding gaiters isn’t a bad idea. I was hoping for the all-in-one deal, but if it gets me through wet trails without trench foot, I’m all in

Dude, I live in Seattle, so I know about rain. full grain leather’s cool, but it always leaks. I started using the Inov-8 Roclite Pro G 400—they’re light, waterproof, and sturdy. No gaiter though.

Haha, Seattle boots need their own level of waterproofing. Those Inov-8s are solid for sure, I admit, they also handle mud well.
