How Much Should I Size Up for La Sportiva Hiking Boots

I’m considering the TX Hike Mid GTX boots from La Sportiva and noticed they’re marked as running small on the size scale. For those who’ve worn this brand, how much did you size up? Half, a whole size, or more? I’m also looking at the Wide width version. Any advice would be appreciated!

From my experience, La Sportiva shoes generally run a half size smaller and tend to be narrow.

I always go half a size up with La Sportiva. They fit well even with my custom orthotics, so they aren’t too narrow for me.

I went half a size up and they fit perfectly.

They typically run about a half-size small and slightly narrow based on my experience.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Still deciding based on your insights.

La Sportiva generally runs small, but the TX Hike Mid GTX has a notably wide and high-volume toe box. It might fit well if you have a high-volume foot. Sizing up half a size might be a good start.

Appreciate the detailed advice! I’m encouraged to give them a try now, especially knowing they might suit my high-volume foot.

I tried these boots but returned them due to a poor fit. I switched to the W’s Nucleo GTX boot instead and found them much better. Might be worth a look!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I’ll check out the Nucleo GTX as well.

For reference, I wear a size 10.5W in running shoes and 9.5-10W in regular shoes. I found that size 43 wide in La Sportiva fits me perfectly.
