Hot tip. Use a cheap aquarium pump to dry bladders, hoses, etc. it was like $8 and dried two bladders and a hose overnight. I used to hang them for days to get them dry

I just put the empty ones in the freezer. Prevents mold from growing, whatever ice forms is gone in a second when refilling it.

I’ve done this for 20 years without any problem

GD this is good

Hell yeah. The aquarium pump is quiet, reliable, and despite not moving much air makes a MASSIVE difference in how long it takes to dry your stuff.

Don’t those need a constant flow of water to prevent them from overheating and burning out?

Edit: nvm, looks like a lot of models are air powered!

Maybe it’s worth clarifying that this is the type of air pump that’s used for aeration, like air stones or bubble features. A water pump used for filtration or water flow wouldn’t work and would burn out.

@Avery
Ahh thanks for clarifying. I was thinking the same thing, that this might work once before this thing melts itself. But an aquarium bubbler definitely makes sense.

I do the opposite with a hair dryer on cool. Blowing the air into the bag and out the tube. Takes 2 minutes.

You can also put a few dry paper towels in the bladder and it’ll dry out by the end of the day

I’ve been using a”BonDry”. It’s a material you put in after you are done washing. Part of it is in the bladder and part of it outside. It helps pull the moisture out. It works pretty quick. I’ve also heard of people using shoe dryers.

@Emory
I’ve seen those things but curious how they pull moisture out of the hose. Or is it mainly just for the bladder itself?

Genius. I have several laying around from my fish hobby and never thought of this.

Or just empty & toss in the freezer

Great idea. I hang mine then it lives in the freezer when not in use.

The freezing and the idea OP posted is genius. We always struggle

Mate that’s an amazing tip, I don’t even want to use my bladders as it’s always such a pain ita, thank you

I just stick salad tongs in them
