Best hiking boots to help me from twisting my ankles? 🤔

Hey y’all, I’m prone to twisting my ankles on uneven trails (mountains of Colorado), and it’s getting kinda annoying. Any suggestions for boots that’ll help with stability and keep me upright?

I had the same issue hiking in Wyoming, I had to find boots with extra ankle support (like Lowa Renegades), I noticed a huge difference. Sturdier boots help keep everything in place.

You should go low-cut with better soles. Switching to low-cut trail runners with grippy soles like the Altras will help more than ankle-high boots.

Honestly, have you thought about seeing a physio? It might not even be the boots

Have you tried adding custom insoles? I use Superfeet in mine, and they give way better support than what comes standard. They can help with alignment, which might stop the rolling.

I’ve been meaning to look into physio anyway… I just thought it’s the boots.

Lately I don’t trust boots alone anymore, I also use the trekking poles. Poles have saved me from ankle rolls so many times, especially on rocky terrain.

What about using ankle braces? I always wear them over my trail shoes when I know the terrain’s gonna be sketchy. Way less bulky than boots and keeps my ankles in check.
