Best affordable down jacket on the market right now?

Hey all, I’m looking for a good down jacket, preferably without a hood, but I’m open to any suggestions. I’m hoping to spend £200 or less. I’ll be using it around the city, but it needs to hold up for proper outdoor adventures too, as I cycle around the world for most of the year. Any recommendations?

Cheap and good quality. The Forclaz down jacket is solid.

I have one and love it! My only complaint is that it runs a bit small.

Can you share your sizing? I’m around 6 feet, 180 lbs, and usually wear a medium jacket or large shirt. Should I size up?

@Amari
I’m usually a medium (5’8", 175 lbs), and the large fits me snugly. I wouldn’t be able to wear much more than a T-shirt underneath. You might want to go for an XL.

I’d recommend Decathlon too. The MT100 is about 70 euros here and has fantastic reviews. The MT500 is warmer but heavier and might not have a hood.

The Decathlon MT500 is around 130 CAD. It’s a great deal compared to similar products.

Decathlon, for sure.

I’ve got the Decathlon MT100 arriving today!

Decathlon’s MT100 range comes in both synthetic and down options.

I recently got a Columbia down jacket for €68 through SportsPursuit, and I love it!

Check out outlet malls like Tanger Outlets. You can find great deals on brands like Eddie Bauer, Columbia, and North Face.

I got an Eddie Bauer Cirrus Lite puffer for around $70 on sale. It’s 650 fill down and super warm.

@Finley
Yeah, deals like that are hard to pass up!

This thread is turning into a Decathlon ad! :laughing:

Scott Sports is having a big sale right now.

I found a decent North Face down jacket for £10 on Vinted. Might be worth checking out.

UNIQLO makes an ultralight down jacket that’s only 7oz and water-treated. Pretty solid for the price.

Montbell might fit your budget and is a great brand. You could also try finding Western Mountaineering or Katabatic on sale or used.

Believe it or not, I got a really nice Paradox brand down jacket from Costco in Canada for $40 CAD, and it’s been fantastic for years!
